Jury motivation: “Daniel has established himself as one of Sweden's most promising young violinists. He made his debut on Swedish television at the age of seven and has since performed as a soloist with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, among others.”
Daniel Migdal is a sought-after chamber musician. He has performed with artists such as Truls Mork, Ulf Wallin, Quiroga Quartet, Zilliacus Persson Raitinen and Bengt Forsberg and has toured as a chamber musician and soloist in Sweden, Estonia, France, the Netherlands, England, China and Poland.
He regularly performs at chamber music festivals such as Hardanger Musikkfest in Norway, Aspekte in Salzburg, Aurora Chamber Music Festival, and Musik vid Siljan. In 2010, Daniel was awarded the Jan Wallander Prize, which, through a collaboration between Handelsbanken and the Royal College of Music in Stockholm, gives Daniel the opportunity to play a violin by Januarius Gagliano, built in 1756.
